OTHER INTERESTING EARLY CD PRESSINGS OF THIS TITLE:

Made in Japan (by Nippon Columbia for RCA record club)
"Mfd. for RCA Direct Marketing, Inc. under License" at three o'clock.
Club catalog number "120771D" at nine o'clock.
Matrix number: D1-20771 1B1 67 9 Z 71
Other matrices exist. I also have D1-20771 1B1 67, and D1-20771 10B1 82

Rear tray insert "Printed in U.S.A." without a barcode.
Where the barcode would normally reside, "D 120771 Mfd. for RCA Direct Marketing Inc.
under License" is found instead. The eight-page U.S.A. booklet makes no club reference.

MADE IN JAPAN, (by JVC)
Matrix number: 81240 2 M2E22
The JVC pressings are as common as houseflies. Many other matrix numbers exist.
I also have 81240 2 M2E11, 81240 2 M2E12, 81240 2 M2E16, 81240 2 S3E11,
81240 S3E12, 81240-2-S7E00, and 81240-2-S7E01

MANUFACTURED BY VICTOR COMPANY OF JAPAN, LTD. MADE IN JAPAN
Matrix number: 81240-2-U12C12
Other matrix numbers are possible.
Later JVC pressings have this expanded manufacturing line.

Rear tray insert "Printed in Japan" with barcode.
"7 81240-2" is printed on the reverse.
The booklet states "Manufactured by JVC, Japan
Printed in Japan" on page eight. Later releases replace that
with "Printed in U.S.A." I found all JVC pressings with this tray card.

MADE IN JAPAN BY DAIO KOSAN CO., LTD.
Matrix number: 123 / 1
I also have matrix 123 / 2
Daio Kosan pressings are much scarcer than JVC pressings.

Rear tray insert "Printed in U.S.A." with barcode.
Nothing is printed on the reverse.
The booklet states "Printed in U.S.A." on page eight.

"Made by ICM/Switzerland" at 6 o'clock
Matrix number: 7567 81240-2 2895 421 01 #
Manufactured using a glass master prepared by PolyGram.
Proof that this title sold very well on CD is the sheer amount of distinct
pressings that WEA needed to meet demand. Many small pressers were used.

No country or factory on the disc, but it is certainly manufactured in Germany
at the Record Service plant in Alsdorf. In tiny print around the perimeter,
there is "All Rights" blah blah blah in three languages.
Matrix number: 251699-2 @ 2
A large "32" is embossed in the plastic center.
While spot pressings from the Alsdorf plant were not commonly needed by
WEA to meet demand in the U.S., it is certainly not unheard of either.
The paper inserts for this and the Swiss pressing are the same common USA
inserts as used for the Daio Kosan pressing and perhaps dozens of
distinct pressings, both imported and domestic discs.
