MADE IN | | JAPAN
Note the catalog number on this disc is now 250 008.
Under the number is DIDZ-10058, indicative of a CBS/Sony pressing.
"CSR COMPACT DISC" is embossed in the plastic center three times.
The matrix number is DIDZ-10059 31A3
Although this variation bears the international catalog number, evidence suggests that it too may have
been distributed in the US, albeit in small numbers.

Front cover of the eight-page booklet.
Standard worldwide front cover for all CD reissues.
"Manufactured by CBS/Sony Inc. in Japan." is printed on page seven.
The booklets for both disc variations reflect the respective catalog numbers.

This rear tray insert comes with the 19129 disc.
There is no country of manufacture or barcode.
Nothing is printed on the reverse.

This rear tray insert comes with the 250 008 disc.
There is no country of manufacture or barcode.
Nothing is printed on the reverse.

This disc (250 008 version) was issued in Japan, as 38XP-3, with the addition of
this sticker obi. The West German target disc (w/19129) was also issued with this obi.

Notes: This disc (either variation) is very scarce.
It is considered the "Honus Wagner" of target CD's, the Holy Grail.
Although other discs are rarer, this one commands the highest price at auction of any target CD.

OTHER INTERESTING EARLY CD PRESSINGS OF THE TITLE:

"MADE IN JAPAN" (by JVC) at 6 o'clock
Known matrix numbers: 19129 2 M4EX12, 19129 2 M5E11, 19129 2 S6E11, 19129 2 S6E12,
19129 2 S6E14, 19129 2 S6E15, 19129 2 S6E110
Undoubtedly, other matrices exist. These JVC pressings are fairly common.
Some sample partials known (from Discogs members with bad eyes):
19129 2 M4E??, 19129 2 M5E2?
This non-target was issued after the target design was discontinued in the USA, circa 1984-1985.

"MANUFACTURED BY VICTOR COMPANY OF JAPAN, LTD. MADE IN JAPAN." at 6 o'clock
This is the second version of the JVC issue, from 1986-1987.
Known matrix numbers: 19129-2-U7C11, 19129-2-U7C13, 19129-2-U7C16, 19129-2-U7C22,

Rear tray insert "Printed in Japan" without barcode.
"19129-2" is printed on the reverse.
Page seven of the accompanying booket states "Manufactured by JVC, Japan.
Printed in Japan."
Most, but not all version 1 JVC pressings come with these paper inserts.

Rear tray insert "Printed in U.S.A." with barcode.
Nothing is printed on the reverse.
Most, but not all version 2 JVC pressings come with this tray card.
Sometimes, a version 1 JVC can be found with these USA inserts.
Usually, a USA pressing will be found within.
Occasionally, a version 2 JVC pressing can be found with the
"Printed in Japan" inserts. Yes, it's all very confusing!

"MADE IN JAPAN" (by Nippon Columbia (Denon)) at 6 o'clock
Known matrix numbers: D1-12014 1A1 68, D1-12014 1B2 72, D1-12014 1B5 72
Meanwhile, members of the RCA (now BMG) record club were treated to this
club exclusive mastering in 1986-1987.
I haven't compared it with any other contemporary masterings.

Rear tray insert "Printed in Japan" without barcode.
It states "Mfd. for RCA Direct Marketing, Inc. under License D 112013"
I found the "1A1 68" disc with this tray card.
The booklet is the same one that comes with the stock JVC Japan pressings.
